This is Hiroshi Wakabayashi's music box kaleidoscope that plays 'Memory' from the hit Broadway musical Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber. The body of the scope is made with copper tubing and copper wire. A lightweight torched copper square base gives this kaleidoscope an antique look.
The object plate is made with brass colored epoxy and colorful glass beads, stones, shells and dichroic pieces - set atop a decorative square base. Hiroshi uses a 3-mirror system offering an endless field of kaleidoscopic pattern. The music box is activated by turning the object plate creating a delight for both the eyes and ears!
This kaleidoscope measures approximately 8-1/2" tall with a base of 5-1/2" by 2-1/2".
