Sue Rioux created the body of this kaleidoscope from clear glass over iridescent patterned paper. Her oil cell in this kaleidoscope contains multicolored and vibrant pieces of glass, beads, dichroic glass, micro beads in a rainbow of colors, and a bright aqua spiral wire for extra interest. The four sides of mirror, configured in a diamond shape, create two overlapping mandalas (or interior images).
She decorated the top with two long dark blue glass rods and a decorative piece of dark blue glass, and finished it with her signature patina that she adds to all her soldering, resulting in a copper effect on the eyepiece end, four little feet, and other adornments.
This is a wonderful acquisition for collectors and lovers of kaleidoscopes alike, and would make a memorable wedding gift. It measures 7-1/2" long x 4" wide x 1-7/8" tall.
Signed and dated by the artist 'Sue Rioux 2018 Symphony' on the bottom of the kaleidoscope.
