Product Description

This large, limited-edition kaleidoscope (#9 of 25) is viewed with both eyes at once, with an eyepiece that is 4" long. The kaleisoscope itself is 26" long x 11.25" wide (at the oil cell).

Originally designed for an exhibit at the American Folk Art Museum in New York City, it is Henry's crowning achievement in both design and visual impact. It is carved to a satin finish from a variety of hardwoods, including Bubinga, a very dense, West African wood, which is very difficult to work work, further emphasizing Henry's supreme woodworking talents.

Henry always has the viewer's ultimate enjoyment in mind, and he designed this kaleidoscope so the body could be adjusted for different viewing heights, ranging from 8" at its lowest position, to 19.5" at its highest. The huge oil-filled object case (11.25" wide x 4.75" in diameter), is loaded with more items in unlimited colors than one can imagine, affording simply stunning 3D imagery. He also created a custom-designed lamp with two adjustable, gooseneck light heads. The base of the lamp is handcarved into a contemporary, rounded triangle shape that is essentially 9" x 9" x 9".

This is truly a piece to covet, collect, and cherish for generations.
